Maintain computer lab PC in good working order:
- Check all PC hardware in good working order.
- Check all PC software are up to date and free from virus.
- Check LAN connectivity.
- Report to IT Manager on problem encountered.
- Install, maintain and give support for NMUC staff PC and laptop regarding software and hardware issues as directed by IT Manager upon receiving request or complain from end user.
- Install Windows OS (Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10) software to staff desktop PC and laptop.
- PC hardware components installation and replacement (Hard disk, motherboard, RAM, CDROM, PCI Card and PSU).
- Troubleshoot network topography and ability to monitor LAN, Wi-Fi and internet network connectivity. Network uptime is important and any downtime must
- be avoided at all cost. IT Technician must knowwhere the entire network switches, modem, accesspoint and firewall equipment is located and must beable to troubleshoot basic network problem.
- For minor project, technician is expected to lay network cable and telephone cable.
- As and when needed, IT Technician also required handling matters related to PABX, CCTV, audiovisual equipment, telephones, Photostat machines,
- projector and printers.
- Report immediately to IT Manager if network downtime occurs and follow guideline and further
- instruction from IT Manager to rectify problem.
- IT Technician may be required to do clerical job such as maintaining, safekeeping, updating and auditing record of IT equipment.
- May require travelling such as a step out of office to buy computer accessories at the local IT stores.
- Liaise, conduct/contact/meeting with outside IT vendors.
